Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise offers an exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, renowned for its stunning seascapes created by mysterious waters and countless limestone karsts. The Vietnamese name, Halong, meaning “descending dragon,” evokes the ancient myth of celestial guardians who descended to protect the land from sea invaders. Legend tells of these dragons breathing out jewels that transformed into a powerful defense, which we now see as over 2,000 scenic limestone islets dotting the bay.
“The Dragon Passage,” a traditional two-day/one-night cruise, navigates the “ancient playground of dragons,” showcasing a landscape of thousands of limestone formations for lasting visual and auditory memories.
