14 days in Vietnam: From Cultural Cities to Coastal Retreats

Day 1 – Arrival in Hanoi

Upon arrival in Hanoi, our team will greet you at the aircraft exit, assist you through passport procedures and with your luggage, then transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2 – Hanoi

Explore Hanoi by jeep, discovering the city’s everyday life through its backstreets, narrow alleys, local homes and markets. Visit the Hanoi Opera House and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, travel along Thanh Nien Street, and explore Banana Island to meet residents, see local farms and sample homegrown tropical fruits and green tea. Continue through the city’s quieter neighbourhoods and past Hoang Hoa Tham’s bonsai-lined streets and the B-52 aircraft wreckage.

In the evening, join a guided street-food walk through Dong Xuan Market and the Old Quarter. Sample local favourites such as banh cuon, enjoy barbecue and fresh fruit, and finish with traditional egg coffee overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Day 3 – Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Lan Ha Bay

Transfer to Tuan Chau Marina and board Heritage Line Ginger for a cruise through Lan Ha Bay and the landscapes of Cat Ba Island. Enjoy lunch with panoramic bay views, then relax on deck, swim in the onboard pool or visit the spa.

Cycle or take an e-cart through Cat Ba National Park to Viet Hai village, where you can meet local residents and discover their traditional way of life. Back on board, join a Vietnamese cooking class before dinner, followed by an evening at leisure or squid fishing.

Day 4 – Lan Ha Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An

Start with Tai Chi on the terrace deck before cruising to Frog Lake for swimming or kayaking among the limestone cliffs and emerald waters. Enjoy breakfast on board, then return by speedboat to the pier.

Transfer to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Da Nang, followed by a transfer to Hoi An. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 5 – Hoi An

Explore Hoi An’s UNESCO-listed Ancient Town, visiting the Japanese Bridge, Chinese Temple and Tan Ky trading house. Conclude at Reaching Out Tea House, a welcoming café staffed by deaf team members, and enjoy a peaceful break before returning to your hotel.

Day 6 – Hoi An

Enjoy a free day to relax or explore Hoi An at your leisure.

Day 7 – Hoi An – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City – Mui Ne

Transfer to Da Nang Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, meet your driver and continue by road to Mui Ne, known for its sandy beaches and striking dunes.

Days 8–11 – Mui Ne

Enjoy free days to relax by the coast and explore Mui Ne at your leisure.

Day 12 – Mui Ne – Ho Chi Minh City

Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City, then discover Saigon after dark on a vintage Vespa. Ride through lively streets and local neighbourhoods, stopping to sample Vietnamese pancakes, spring rolls, banana sticky rice, fresh seafood and avocado ice cream. End the evening with live music at a local bar before returning to your hotel.

Day 13 – Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels

Travel by shared speedboat along the Saigon River, observing riverside life on the way to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels. Explore the tunnel network, learn about its role in wartime operations and see remnants of the conflict, including a damaged American tank.

Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 14 – Ho Chi Minh City – Departure
