Guests can observe the village’s unique floating homes and everyday water-based activities up close during a local-rowed bamboo boat trip.

For those on 2-night itineraries with the Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise, complimentary kayaks offer the freedom to independently explore the bay. Furthermore, the Cua Van Cultural Center, run by the village residents, displays archaeological finds and photographs that illuminate the rich heritage of this remarkable community, a key highlight of the Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise.

A tender transfer leads you to Tien Ong Cave aboard Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise, an archaeological treasure showcasing human civilization dating back 10,000 to 8,000 BC. Fossil finds here indicate its former connection to the mainland before Halong Bay’s marine evolution.

Stretching 50 meters deep and encompassing approximately 1,000 square meters, a guided exploration offers fascinating perspectives on this ancient cavern’s history and geological significance.

Upon return to the vessel, the Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise sets sail towards our overnight mooring. As Halong Bay’s enchanting ‘blue hour’ descends, its stunning landscapes are bathed in a magical light. Guests can unwind on the sun deck with a drink, witnessing this picturesque transformation. DAY 2: Sung Sot Cave – Pearl Farm – Halong Bay Mooring Point

Begin the day aboard Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise with the soothing rhythm of the sea and the enticing scents of coffee and pastries in the dining area. Guests looking for a morning activity can join a Tai Chi session on the sun deck, harmonizing with the stunning landscape. For today’s explorations, we’ll transfer to the day boat Sunset, and breakfast will be served as we cruise towards Sung Sot Cave, the most expansive cavern in Halong Bay.

Sung Sot Cave, spanning 10,000 square meters, presents two distinct chambers. The initial chamber features dramatic stalactites, resembling chandeliers, suspended from a 30-meter ceiling. A 3-meter wide passage leads to the grand inner chamber, a natural ‘opera house’ showcasing a clear pond, diverse flora, and spectacular stalagmites and stalactites, all sculpted over millennia. Natural sounds of birds, flowing water, and occasional monkey activity enhance this geological spectacle.

Upon returning to the vessel, you can unwind on the sun deck or within the climate-controlled dining area, accompanied by a Vietnamese iced coffee (‘cafe sua da’), prior to self-guided kayak exploration. The vertical cliffs rising from the water offer a sense of liberation as one navigates through the verdant water and islet formations.

Continuing your journey aboard Heritage Line’s Violet Cruise, you’ll visit a fascinating floating pearl farm. Here, witness the intricate steps involved in cultivating, harvesting, and processing different kinds of pearls. Observe a skilled technician meticulously open oysters, implant seeds, and return them to the water – a lengthy process with often limited success. Oysters that thrive ultimately produce precious gems. After the pearl farm experience, the ship sails back, offering opportunities for sunbathing, indulging in spa treatments, or admiring the enchanting ‘blue hour’ as daylight fades.

Dine on board, then participate in squid catching with our crew; your catch can be prepared fresh for a late-night snack. Our late-night bar offers a selection of beverages as you unwind on loungers, observing Halong Bay’s tranquil nightscape before rest.

DAY 3: Halong Bay Mooring Point – Ti Top Island – Tuan Chau

Early risers find tea, coffee, and pastries served in the dining room. A Tai Chi session on the sun deck provides a morning mind-body awakening. Subsequently, the ship proceeds to Ti Top Island. Originally Cat Nang, the island’s name was altered following a 1962 tour of Halong Bay by President Ho Chi Minh and Russian astronaut German Titov. The renaming to Ti Top Island honored Titov’s fascination with the islet and symbolized Vietnamese-Russian friendship.

Upon arrival at Titov Island, visitors can opt for a morning swim on its pristine sandy beach, framed by dramatic rock formations. Alternatively, a 20-minute climb up 400 stone steps leads to the island’s summit, offering extensive panoramic views of the bay. A mid-level viewing platform also provides excellent photo opportunities, with vistas surrounded by lush vegetation.

Back on board, you can access shower facilities for refreshment. The vessel commences its return to the harbor, accompanied by breakfast service. The remaining journey allows for viewing of the iconic site’s concluding vistas from the sun deck or dining room.
